IT MATTERS TO THIS ONE...
A woman was walking along a beach covered with starfish. Moved by the massive number of floundering starfish, every so often she would stoop to pick one up and throw it back into the ocean. A man came upon her and asked why she was bothering with throwing some back when there were so many that needed to be save-how could she possibly make a difference? Unaltered, the woman picked up another starfish, threw it back into the ocean, and said
"IT MADE A DIFFERENCE TO THAT ONE!"

How Can I Make A Difference?
As a non-profit organization, we rely on volunteers, like yourself, who want to use their life to make a difference in someone else's. We need your talent and expertise! Here are some of our regular volunteer opportunities:
- Be a "Goal Coach" for residents
- Answer 24-hour hotline
- Help clean or organize shelter
- Assist Administrative Staff
- Join the Fundraising and Marketing Committee
- Storytelling to the children
- Be a "Homework Buddy"-tutoring
- Conduct Speaking Engagements
- Teach a life-skills seminar
- Mentor children
- Friday Movie Nights with children
- Providing professional services such as, plumbing, pro-bono legal or health care services, electrical or auto repair,beauty aid services, exercise classes, printing H.E.R. literature, painting, interior design, etc.
